Aim

Help our gymnasts reach new heights! We’re raising funds for a brand-new vault run and foam pit – giving everyone the confidence to leap!

Who are w1793618942_sdsg.jpge?

Here at South Devon School of Gymnastics, we provide exciting gymnastics opportunities in a dedicated gymnastics venue for girls and boys of all ages. We have over 400 members joining us every week for physical movement, gymnastics training and fun. We are passionate about developing skills, building confidence and inspiring a love of gymnastics and physical activity.

We are the proud home to Olympian and world medallist Abi Martin, National medallists and to hundreds of gymnasts who love gymnastics and have big ambitions. We also offer SEN, home education, toddler and pre-school sessions every week.

We are a registered not for profit charity and all money that comes in to the club is put back in to providing excellent coaching staff, facilities and specialised equipment.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We need to raise £80,000 in total for the building works and the additional equipment/ work to renovate our space. We have already raised half the money through local council grants and club fundraising.

Every penny raised will help us take South Devon School of Gymnastics to the next level! Your support will help us expand our raised pit area, install a full-length competition vault run with both competition and soft-pit landing options, invest in a new bar set-up for safer skill development and transform our boys’ equipment area.

These improvements aren’t just about new equipment – they’re about creating safer training environments, unlocking new skills, building confidence and giving every gymnast, from beginner to elite, the space and opportunities to get active and achieve more. Your fundraising will help shape the future of our club and make a lasting difference to hundreds of gymnasts every week.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We are working on a phased project -

Phase 1 which requires ~1/3 of the total is the building works to extend and improve our existing raised pits areas.  This is scheduled for the December holidays when our purpose built facility is closed and will cause the least disruption to our day to day classes. We have raised the money for this already!

Phase 2 - The rest of the money will be spent on the equipment & installation, including safety foam for the new pits and new landing mats/ areas. In our sport the safety and wellbeing of our athletes comes first and good safety equipment is expensive. We obviously want to install all the new equipment as soon as possible after the building works are complete but we are aiming for Jan - March 2027 for final completion depending on how well our fundraising progresses.

Community impact

South Devon School of Gymnastics is a community sports hub, we promote accessible activity for young people, we provide a cafe and viewing area for families, and we employ young people from the area through our young leader program.

We also host one off events, children's birthday parties and gymnastics competitions providing a focal point for community sports at all levels.
