Celebrating 40 years, Swale Combined AC is raising £14,070 to upgrade the long jump facility and build brighter sporting futures in Swale.
In 2026, Swale Combined Athletic Club proudly celebrates its 40th year at the heart of local athletics. For four decades, we’ve supported athletes of all ages and abilities - helping people discover sport, develop talent, and build a lifelong love of physical activity.
Athletics is the foundation of all sport. The skills developed through running, jumping, and throwing underpin performance in every other sporting pathway, making access to quality athletics facilities vital for the wider sporting community. As well as developing athletic ability, Swale Combined Athletic Club prides itself on providing an accessible, inclusive, and safe environment where team members can build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and social skills that benefit them far beyond sport.

Despite serving an area of more than 160,000 residents, Swale currently has no competition-level athletics facilities. This limits opportunities for local athletes, schools, and clubs, and forces many to travel outside of the Swale borough to train and compete.

Existing Long Jump training facility is in need of an upgrade
In partnership with Fulston Manor Academies Trust, who owns the facility the club trains at, we’re aiming to raise £14,070 to refurbish the long jump run-up to full competition standard. This project is the first step in a wider vision to develop high-quality athletics facilities in Swale. This project marks the beginning of a transformation that will open doors for athletes, schools, clubs, and future generations.

We are pleased to announce that the Sport England Movement Fund and the National Lottery has agreed to support our campaign by donating 50% of our target... but only if we can raise the rest! That's where we need your help!
By supporting this appeal, you’re not just funding a long jump runway—you’re investing in the future of athletics in Swale, creating better opportunities for young people, and helping to deliver lasting benefits to the entire community for the next 40 years and beyond.
