Aim

Raising funds to replace the outdoor practice nets at Ropley Cricket Club

Who are we?

Ropley Cricket Club is a long established cricket club in the heart of Hampshire.

We are an inclusive club and provide a warm welcoming environment, with cricketing opportunities for all members of the community, whatever age or ability.

We have a thriving junior section with cricket teams for girls and boys from age 9 to 16, along with both women and senior cricket sides.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The outdoor cricket nets at Ropley are now over 15 years old, during which time they have been extensively used by both the club and the local community. The nets are now well worn, decaying and becoming unsafe.

We want to make sure that we continue to improve the club and provide new nets that will allow people in the club and community to stay active, have fun and improve their cricket skills. Without the new nets in place, we face the prospect of limited training opportunities and eventually loosing an important community asset.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The new training nets will cost in excess of £46,000. Our fundraising through Crowdfunder, which is supported by Sport England, is a vital contribution in helping us reach our overall target.

The new nets will be English Cricket Board (ECB) compliant, longer in length with a more consistent bounce, providing people with a much improved and safer training facility.

Community impact

With few cricket clubs nearby, our nets are widely used and are an important asset to the village and the wider community.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
