Aim

I am running the Rome Marathon to help NUC change young people's lives, giving hope, confidence and a safe space to those who need it most.

Hi, I’m Karen, and I’ve worked with NUC for almost 13 years. We’re a youth and family organisation supporting children and families across north Glasgow, a community I care deeply about.

During my time here, I’ve seen how vital our free services are. I’ve watched young people grow in confidence, find their voice, and feel supported at some of the hardest moments in their lives. That’s why I’m running the Rome Marathon, because this work matters.

The Acting Up project, which provides creative and emotional support for young people, has recently run out of funding. We’re doing everything we can to secure new opportunities, but right now we need help to keep the group going in the meantime. I see every week how much it means to the young people involved, and we don’t want to lose something that makes such a positive difference.

By running the Rome marathon, I want to give something back to a project and a community that inspires me every day. Any support you can give, big or small, will help us keep Acting Up alive until new funding comes through. Thank you so much for helping us continue this work.
