Aim

Together we can bring back Bournemouth’s Airshow magic — Red Arrows, BBMF & safe skies for all in 2026

✈️ Keep Bournemouth’s Skies Alive – Flying Display 2026

For years, Bournemouth’s skies have lit up with the roar of jets, the grace of aerobatics, and the sparkle of fireworks. Families on the beach, children looking up in awe, businesses bustling — the Air Festival has been a highlight of our towns, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and generating millions for the local economy.

But in 2026, that magic risks disappearing. Unless we step up.

Our Mission

We are a community-led team of aviation professionals, local businesses, and passionate residents who refuse to let Bournemouth lose one of its most loved traditions. With your help, we’re working to deliver a safe, world-class Flying Display in 2026 — one that inspires the next generation, supports local jobs, and keeps Bournemouth on the map.

We do this in memory of Flt Lt Jon Egging, who tragically lost his life at Bournemouth on 20/08/11, and in honour of all who believe our skies should remain alive with inspiration.

What Your Donation Supports

Every pound you give goes directly toward the essential upfront costs that unlock this project:

  • CAA Applications & Airspace Safety – securing permissions to fly.
  • Insurance Deposits – ensuring the event is fully covered.
  • Securing Display Teams – RAF Red Arrows, Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and historic aircraft.
  • Maritime & Safety Planning – protecting spectators on land and sea.
  • Community Engagement – making sure Bournemouth’s residents and businesses are at the heart of this event.

Phase 1 – Seed Funding Goal

Running a flying display is a £600k–£1m project, but we don’t need to raise that all at once.
This crowdfund is about Phase 1 seed funding — our first milestone of £50,000.

This initial goal will:

  • Pay for CAA permissions and airspace applications.
  • Cover early insurance deposits.
  • Allow us to secure display teams like the Red Arrows and BBMF.
  • Show the council, Chamber of Commerce, and sponsors that the community is behind this.

By hitting this milestone, we unlock the next stages — attracting major sponsors, Chamber support, and business investment to deliver the full 2026 event.

Transparency

  • Every pound raised goes towards organising and running the event.
  • All funds and expenses will be published openly.
  • A committee of organisers is being formed to oversee delivery.

If, for any reason, the event cannot proceed, remaining funds will be donated to The Jon Egging Trust and local aviation/STEM charities.

Bournemouth deserves to keep its skies alive. Let’s make 2026 the year we fly again, together.
