Aim

To raise funds for the Rawthey Project CIC, providing support to those with backgrounds in the military, emergency services and NHS.

As we have done over the past few years, the Rawthey Runners will be participating in the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon on Sunday 10th May 2026.

This year will see three of us take on the full marathon, a further four take on the half marathon and a final 7 will join forces to complete the course as a relay team.

The Rawthey Runners participating include mentors, supporters and former beneficiaries of Rawthey. Their purpose will be to raise funds for the Rawthey Project CIC and promote well-being within the community.

The Rawthey Project exists for public benefit, particularly (but not exclusively) those with backgrounds in the armed forces, emergency services, and NHS, who are in need or experiencing social or economic disadvantage.

We support individuals to access employment, education, and independent living, and we provide targeted assistance where needed, including mental health support, hardship relief, and access to accommodation or treatment.

Our model is peer-led and outcome focused. Volunteers with lived or professional experience help those facing isolation, risk, or disadvantage to navigate recovery with tailored support and shared understanding.

We also offer residential reset & recovery option, which is named after a former beneficiary - Tom Thacker' and is peer-led support, in a safe and structured environment.

This past year has seen us reach a very important goal with the purchase of 3 individual accommodation pods which have been established in Sedbergh to be used by our beneficiaries during their recoveries.

This feat was only possible due to the fantastic support given to our challengers throughout 2024/25 as they put themselves in the hurt locker to provide the funds for infrastructure, support and treatment of our beneficiaries. Your efforts are very much appreciated by all within the Rawthey Family.

Our goal during 2026 is to raise the funds to purchase and install a 4th pod which will offer a further 2 rooms and also communal space for cooking and relaxing. This goal is in addition to our continued support and care of veterans in need!

Thank you for helping us to ensure that #LeaveNoOneBehind
