Aim

To donate enough money for one defibrillator so that the Oliver King Foundation can give it to another family, in loving memory of Alexander

On Boxing Day 2021, we tragically lost our beautiful son, Alexander suddenly and unexpectedly. Until very recently, we had no idea why he died and it was only because of genetic testing that we learnt he died due to a genetic mutation which results in something called PPA2 deficiency. Although not much is known about this condition, we do know that it causes sudden cardiac death in children. As it is a recessively inherited condition, we had our other children tested and our daughter Isabelle is also affected. We were incredibly fortunate to have received a donated defibrillator from the Oliver King Foundation, which has enabled us to feel prepared to give Isabelle the best chance of survival until she will receive an internal device.

As February is Alexander's birthday month, we are giving ourselves one year from now to raise and donate enough money, so that another family with a member at risk of sudden cardiac death can benefit from such a device from the Oliver King Foundation. We are grateful for each and every donation, or fundraising activity in his and Isabelle's honour! Thank you.
