Who are we?

Active Travel Tynedale promotes active travel by raising awareness of the benefits that it brings, lobbying the county council for better active travel infrastructure and encouraging people of all ages to try cycling.

Why are we crowdfunding?

An opportunity has arisen to bring a pop-up pump track to Hexham for the day of the On Yer Bike Tynedale festival of cycling on 22nd June. This is an opportunity not to be missed! Demonstrating that there's a significant demand for a pump track in Hexham will help us to raise the money for a permanent pump track, and will help us when we're negotiating with the county council for land to build it on.

If you're applying for extra funding, this is a good place to demonstrate why your project is eligible so refer back to the criteria to help complete this section

How we’ll spend the money raised

£2,400 will pay for an awesome Dirt Factory Speedring pump track for the day, and we need to raise the money by Friday 20th June if we're going to make it happen. If we raise between £2,000 and £2,400 we'll go for the slightly less awesome (but still great) Funduro pump track, and if we raise less than £2,000 we won't be able to bring a pop-up pump track to Hexham for the 22nd June but will put the money towards a pop-up pump track later in the year.

Community impact

Pump tracks are great exercise for people of all ages and skill levels, and they can be ridden on scooters, skates and skateboards as well as on almost any type of bike. They're great places to get fit, sharpen your skills and meet people. They've also been shown to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve community safety.
