Aim

Our 35 Year old club house is rotting and no longer safe. We want to replace it with an accessible space, basic utilities for years to come.

Our Vision.

Replacing the clubhouse and creating  a  new clubhouse with  basic facilities will be transformative for the club and for the area. We want to create a safe space not just for the tennis club but for other local groups and organisations to use and develop a real sense of community once more.

Our space can be used to attract new members but also give vital access to those with physical impairments / people with a disability for the first time. We can promote and support other local groups with meeting space and working collaboratively to better our community for all.

We want to ensure that the club can continue for another 100 years and being the only year-round sports club in the village we want to further access to physical exercise in a safe space irrespective of experience, ability or age.

Who Are We?

Pittenweem Tennis Club is 99 years old and provides access to tennis for young people, adults and families in Pittenweem and the wider East Neuk area.

With a strong Coaching programme we need your help to replace our existing clubhouse which is now 35 years old and no longer safe. We need basic amenities such as water, toilets and access  for those with a physical impairment / physical disability to create a safe space for young and old to socialise in, not just for tennis but for the benefit of the whole community.

Why Now?

We began to plan for the facility project in 2019 when it became clear that the clubhouse was at the end of its life and developing our facilities was the only way for the club to continue and reach its centenary in 2022.

We have some funding in place from the North East Fife Participatory Budget of £4,500 and a commitment from another local fund for the same monies. We intended to make 2020 our year for fundraising and generate income to advance the project but then the global pandemic hit, and we were unable to move the project forward.

With another year of wear and tear, the clubhouse is no longer safe to use and we face having to close our doors if we cannot complete the upgrade to facilities as a matter of urgency.

Our Plan.

Firstly we need to remove the existing clubhouse, install utilities and improve access for all. We plan to convert a used shipping container to create a new clubhouse for wider community use and install a toilet block. We plan to ensure that the clubhouse and courts can be used by all, so it is crucial that we can improve our access.

How You Can Help Us Achieve Our Plan.

Pledge or donate

Please take a look at our rewards and pledge on the one you'd like the most - you can even donate a coaching session to someone else if tennis isn't your thing! Alternatively, you can simply donate an amount of your own choosing using the 'Donate' button.

Spread the word

Or if you're unable to help financially, you can still help socially, by sharing our project with others to let them know about what we're doing.

Get in touch

Equally, if you can support us with labour, or access to materials, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you are a local business and would like to support us with a more bespoke package please get in touch at [email protected]

We see our club as a space for other local groups to use, and promote all that our amazing village and the wider area has to offer.

A huge thank you to you all in anticipation of whatever help you can offer.
