Aim

I'll be kayaking, unsupported from Fort William to Inverness to raise funds for Tynemouth District Scouts

This year I’ll be attempting a self-supported kayak journey across Scotland, paddling the length of the Caledonian Canal from Fort William to Inverness. Follow my progress here.

Over three days I’ll be travelling by kayak through lochs and canals, carrying everything needed for the trip and camping along the way. It’s a proper adventure challenge and exactly the kind of experience that Scouting encourages young people to take part in.

I’m taking on the challenge to raise money for Tynemouth District Scouts. The funds will help us:

• Train volunteers to nationally recognised standards

• Purchase safety equipment for adventurous activities

• Support paddlesports and other outdoor programmes

• Give more young people the chance to take part in life-changing experiences

Adventure is at the heart of Scouting, but it requires trained leaders and the right equipment to do it safely. Every donation will help us expand what we can offer to young people across the district.

The journey will cover around 60 miles of water, crossing some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes. It will also involve plenty of early starts, sore shoulders and hopefully not too much Scottish weather.

If you’re able to support the challenge, any contribution would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you.
