Aim: To provide respite to veterans and emergency services with PTSD.on our farm in Goring on Thames and to teach them how to look after sheep
We are a social enterprise which I set up to get the local community and veterans of our armed forces and their families opportunities to volunteer and become involved in lambing and helping run a farm which has only one purpose and that is to make people happy.
The reason I did this is that I was a soldier in The Royal Pioneer Corps and 23 Pioneer Regiment RLC when I left I had various injuries including PTSD after a few years Help For Heroes put me on a business running course, I chose to run a Sheep Farm which helped me a lot.
I thought after a while I would like to help others get the same benefits that I was getting which are as follows, peace, happiness, a rewarding and fun experience that at the end of the day gave me a huge sense of achievement and happiness, so I decided to split my farm in two and keep my farm but use the other farm as a CIC (community interest company) where nobody gets paid and all profits go back into the farm.
Any Surplus funds that the farm does not need to run and grow and survive will go back into providing care for our veterans and emergency services
