Aim

Adventure, film and community cycling — helping change lives, one ride at a time.

  • A documentary-led winter bikepacking challenge,  — a journey of around 3,000 km with 35,000 m of climbing, nearly four Everests, from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to Santiago de Compostela to raise awareness of and ability to expand recovery-focused cycling, mental health support, and inclusive community programmes through Col’s Kent Bike Tours CIC.

I’m a social enterprise founder, filmmaker, music and event producer, artist, and Cycle UK–trained ride leader, working at the intersection of cycling, community, and creative storytelling as a tool to inspire others and create hope. If it helps even one person keep moving forward, it’s worth it.

Cycling has been central to my own mental health. Long journeys give me clarity — time to reflect, explore, recharge, and quiet my mind — and a way to stay well, especially through winter when motivation and energy can drop hard. There’s nowhere to hide on the road — just the simple work of moving forward.

Every donor becomes part of the journey

– Credited in the final documentary

– A day of the ride dedicated to them

– Name on my panniers + an epic photo

– Invitation to the exhibition private view

– The opportunity to share your story, art, music or brand  to inspire others via our social channels.

Last winter’s Italy expedition (2,000 km / 20,000 m) reached 115k+ views, 8.5k+ engagements, and 9+ hours watch time, and directly shaped the tours and community rides now delivered through Col’s Kent Bike Tours CIC.

I’ll be riding mostly solo, with friends and members of the cycling community invited to join sections along the way, funded by the crowd-funder for those that need.  I’ll document the journey and visit grassroots cycling and recovery projects to learn what works — and bring those ideas home to strengthen our programmes in the UK.

Recovery-focused cycling in action

Through CKBT, we already deliver free and subsidised community rides, recovery-focused cycling programmes, and inclusive events in Margate and across East Kent.

A key strand of this work is the Recovery Bike Project, delivered in partnership with The Forward Trust. This programme supports people in recovery to improve physical & mental health, rebuild confidence, routine, and practical skills through cycling — including regular rides, bike maintenance, and progression toward longer-distance challenges. For many participants, it’s a vital step back into structure, community, and self-belief and has changed lives. See the full film about the project here.

What participants from our community rides say:

The impact of this work is best described by the people involved:

“Without these rides, I think I’d be in a dark place. My confidence and mental health have improved so much.”

— Elizabeth

“The rides are welcoming and inclusive. Being outdoors and meeting people has made a huge difference to my happiness.”

— Julia

“Getting through winter was tough, but these rides really helped my wellbeing. They’re something I genuinely look forward to.”

— Russell

“My son, who has autism, now has the confidence to cycle to school on his own. The encouragement and understanding have been incredible.”

— Parent of a young rider

Why this journey matters to me

I’ve always been driven to explore. It’s where I feel most content — it feels natural.

Freedom. Simplicity. Awe. Exhilaration. A quiet mind.

This journey is a proactive choice to stay well through winter, reset and refocus, and gather the insight needed to deepen the project. What I learn on the road feeds directly back into programmes that help others find confidence, purpose, and belonging through cycling.

Documenting the journey

A core part of this project is producing a high-quality short documentary film.

The film will document:

    •    The physical journey through the Atlas Mountains and beyond

    •    The personal and reflective aspects of winter endurance riding

    •    Visits to grassroots cycling and recovery projects

    •    The wider mission and impact of Col’s Kent Bike Tours CIC

This isn’t just about showcasing an adventure — it’s about reaching a wider audience, inspiring others, and amplifying the impact of community cycling. The filming equipment will continue to be used for future CIC projects, helping document and promote free rides, training programmes, and inclusive events.
