Help future-proof Clitheroe RUFC’s only pitch with new equipment and lighting, so rugby for all can thrive now and long term.
Clitheroe Rugby Club is a community rugby club at the heart of the Ribble Valley, offering rugby for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. From our growing junior sections to our women’s teams, senior sides and vets, we are proud to be a welcoming club that brings people together through sport, friendship, and shared values.

Due to the continued success and growth of Clitheroe Rugby Club, demand on our facilities has increased significantly. We now support a large junior programme, women’s and girls’ teams, two senior men’s teams and a vets team, all sharing one pitch, unlike many clubs who have access to several.
To protect our only pitch and ensure it can be used safely and sustainably, we need to invest in specialist pitch maintenance equipment and upgrade our outdated floodlights. Our current lights were installed in the 1990s, offer poor visibility, are not energy efficient, and no longer light the full pitch, limiting evening training and play.
We have secured £15,000 in Sport England match funding towards the project, meaning every £1 we raise through this campaign will be doubled. This gives us a fantastic opportunity to turn the support of our members, players, families, businesses and wider community into twice the impact for the club.
The funds raised will help us invest in the equipment and floodlight improvements we need, increasing flexibility, reducing pressure on our only pitch and allowing us to make better use of our facilities.
Most importantly, this project will help us continue offering rugby for all and provide safe, sustainable facilities for the whole Clitheroe Rugby Club community well into the future.

All funds raised will be used directly to improve and protect our facilities, including:
Every contribution will help safeguard the future of rugby at Clitheroe Rugby Club.

Clitheroe Rugby Club is more than just a sports club, it is a community hub. We play a vital role in improving physical and mental wellbeing, tackling social isolation, and creating a safe, inclusive space where people of all ages can connect.
Our facilities support children, young people, adults, and families from across the local area. By protecting our pitch and improving access through better lighting, we ensure more opportunities for participation, stronger community links, and a club that remains open and accessible to everyone.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
