New stretch target
More funding would help us potentially extend the scheme beyond July, and would help us launch our Oasis Pantry, where more families on low incomes could access good quality surplus food for a fraction of the cost.

We want to provide a weekly food parcel delivery service for families in Bath on low incomes, especially those impacted by Coronavirus.

WHO WE ARE
Oasis Hub Bath, in collaboration with the Southdown Whiteway Church and Community Partnership, run holidays clubs aimed at providing a fun place to come in the school holidays, with a hot, nutritious meal as part of this, to children and families where finances are under pressure. We call this project ‘Make Lunch’. Due to Coronavirus and the government restrictions on gatherings, we have not been able to run Make Lunch as we normally do and are not sure when we will be able to again.
THE NEED
Many of the families we work with through Make Lunch are the families hit particularly hard by Coronavirus. Tight finances in some cases have become even tighter as many have lost their jobs or seen their hours cut. Access to help and support has also become more challenging with many public services reduced or closed.
OUR IDEA
In light of all of this we wanted to respond in some way, and through working with both the Salvation Army in Bath and food redistribution charity FareShare South West, we will be providing weekly food parcels for families in contact with us, as well as those referred through other agencies, throughout May – July.
Our weekly food parcel will contain enough food to feed a family for several days. It will contain a range of chilled, fresh and ambient goods. Each parcel will also contain a game or activity of some kind as well as a letter from the team, which will also include details of the a local Covid-19 community helpline (run by 3SG/Third Sector Group in Bath) in case further help and support is needed.
We have a great team of volunteers who are all ready to go, but what we desperately need now, is funding. We need to pay for equipment such as insulated food bags and PPE for our volunteers. We need to be able to reimburse our volunteers for the miles they will travel delivering food to vulnerable families. We need to pay for the cost of the food.
We need your help and that’s why we’ve launched this Crowdfunder. Even a small donation will make a big difference, so please give if you can, and share this page as far and wide as possible.
Let’s make sure that no child in Bath goes hungry because of Coronavirus. Thanks for your help.
