Community, connection and compassion: empowering SEND families across the UK to be seen, celebrated and thrive with confidence.
Our Story
I know first-hand the highs and lows of parenting in the SEND world. When my son Harry was born with complex needs, my world shifted overnight. I went from chasing career goals to navigating medical jargon, appointments, and a future I hadn’t prepared for. Like so many parents, I often felt isolated, overwhelmed, and unseen.
But through this journey, I’ve discovered the incredible strength, humour, and resilience that SEND families carry every single day. I’ve also seen how life-changing it is to have safe spaces of understanding and connection — places where parents and children can just be, without judgment. That’s why I started Our Altered Lives CIC: because no SEND parent should feel alone.

Create inclusive events where SEND children are accepted and celebrated for exactly who they are.

Where the Money Goes
We believe in being clear about the difference your support makes. Every donation contributes to real opportunities for SEND families:
£100 → Provides a Teal Teapot Coordinator Kit so a SEND mum can create and run monthly café meet-ups in her local area, with ongoing support from us.
£1,000 → Funds a special meet-up for mums or dads to enjoy a hot meal, laughter, and friendship with others who truly understand.
£3,000 → Supports two days of stay-and-play experiences for 40 SEND families in Staffordshire after Christmas, when parents are often emotionally and financially drained.
£4,500 → Provides four days of stay-and-play sessions over the Easter holidays, giving 40 SEND families connection and joy during a time that can feel isolating.
£10,000 → Creates eight days of stay-and-play opportunities for 40 SEND families over the long summer holidays — a time when SEND children are often excluded, and parents are stretched to breaking point.
