This new facility is vital to accommodate the increasing number and variety of training groups, providing more quality training for everyone
Who are we?NAACC is a thriving community hub with a diverse membership, experiencing significant growth, particularly among junior members and women/girls. Located near a village of 4,000 with limited sports options, NAACC serves as the primary sports facility, fostering social connections and celebrating cultural diversity. Currently, 198 people attend 9 training sessions weekly and play competitive matches.
Notts and Arnold Cricket Club (NAACC) aims to create a welcoming and supportive environment for players aged 5-65 (and beyond). Their existing cricket nets are out dated, hindering effective training and player development. Investing in new, high-quality facilities is crucial for player development and safety, structured coaching, skill enhancement, membership growth, community engagement, and future sustainability.
The club plans to install new outdoor cricket nets as training moves indoors. The new facility is vital to accommodate the increasing number and variety of training groups, providing more quality training lanes. This upgrade will support new players and increase participation among under-represented groups, including older adults, young children, and women/girls. Enhanced facilities will allow coaches to deliver targeted skill practice, ensuring observable improvement and sustained motivation. The new nets will also facilitate partnerships with local organisations and schools, targeting lower-wealth demographics where barriers to regular sporting activity exist. The three-lane facility will increase capacity and provide additional space for warm-ups, cool-downs, and fitness coaching.

The project aims to achieve several benefits for the people NAACC supports. Existing members are excited and will be involved in fundraising, fostering strong community relationships. Members are anticipated to feel valued, more confident in their abilities, and better prepared for competition, leading to increased motivation and healthy activity. The new facilities will also attract new members, especially younger players interested in technical cricket skills, aligning with the growing interest in cricket due to initiatives like "The Hundred." The larger, three-lane facility with a fitness area will safely accommodate multiple groups with differing skill levels, allowing for diverse training sessions. Its all-weather usability will reduce cancellations due to poor weather, encouraging more winter activity. Beyond performance, the club emphasises life skills like resilience, teamwork, and respect, which coaches will continue to model. The new facilities will enable more targeted training sessions, fostering player development and interest in volunteering, coaching, and officiating, leading to increased confidence and motivation.
The project, with a target of £60,000 - £65,000, aims for nets to be installed by Spring 2026. A Communication Plan will ensure engagement through regular updates, press releases, recognition of donors, and a dedicated website section. A Risk Management plan will address fundraising contingencies, project scope adjustments, minimising installation delays, and ensuring on going engagement.

Upon completion, Project Nets is expected to yield a 33% increase in training sessions capacity (from 2 to 3 lanes), increased activity for members, and a 10-20% increase in engagement with potential new members and schools.
