CYF enables children, young people and families in Nottingham to be able to make incredible differences to their own and their community's lives and futures, through innovative and dynamic youth led projects, which provide new and exciting opportunities which develop life and social skills and provide a place of safety. Nottingham’s high levels of deprivation, under-investment and structural inequalities have led to a lack of opportunity for children and young people to reach their full potential. CYF is committed to improving access to high quality and inclusive development activities for Nottingham’s most marginalised and under resourced communities.
We are focussed on investing in local communities to support them in becoming more robust, resilient and autonomous. Led responsibly by people with lived experience, who have a proven track record of effectively disseminating skills and knowledge, CYF equips children, young people and families with the tools they need to create and access high level development opportunities for themselves and build safe, happy, healthy and fulfilling futures.
Our services include:
Mentoring and 1to1 work - Children and young people aged up to 25 are provided with a programme of tailored mentoring and one to one work, with each young person accessing between 1 and 8 hours of support each week depending on need.
Project and small group work - A dynamic and impactful program that harnesses the power of high-end, arts-based group projects to empower young people. Annually, CYF delivers a series of these projects, providing a platform for young individuals to collaborate, learn, and express themselves while addressing social issues that are significant to them. Family support -Providing packages of support to meet the needs of individual families including mental health, budgeting, advocacy, education, back to work and parenting support.
Crisis intervention - Supporting children, young people and families in times of crisis from bereavement to homelessness to food poverty.
