We’re Nottingham Children, Young People and Their Families Project (CYF) — a small, dedicated charity that’s been supporting children, young people and families across Nottingham since 2007. Our work is practical, hands-on, and always focused on building trust, connection, positive futures and hope.
Until recently, we had access to a minibus kindly loaned to us by a partner charity. It was absolutely vital to our work — transporting children to activities like ice skating, trampolining and residential camps in Cornwall, Derbyshire and Scotland; taking families on holiday to Skegness; and helping people move when facing homelessness or fleeing domestic abuse. The minibus also acted as a mobile resource hub, carrying games, books and sports kit so we could support young people wherever they were.
In November 2024, despite all our precautions, the minibus was stolen. It was locked, immobilised and even had the battery disconnected. Sadly, the police were unable to recover it. As it didn’t belong to us, we’re not able to claim on insurance — and we’ve lost a lifeline that we simply can’t afford to replace alone.
Since then, we've had to reduce activities, and we’ve been unable to help homeless families move their belongings or respond quickly to emergencies.
We’re now crowdfunding to raise money for a replacement minivan that our team can drive — a vehicle that will once again allow us to do the practical, everyday things that help families survive and thrive.
If you’re able to contribute anything at all, we’d be deeply grateful. Every donation brings us closer to getting back on the road, and back to doing what we do best: standing alongside children, young people and families when they need it most.
Thank you.
