Aim
Raising funds to purchase new training equipment to help support local kids achieve their goals through grassroots Rugby League.
Who are we?
We’re Westhoughton Lions Rugby League Club, a family friendly, volunteer-run club at the heart of our community. From age 3 upwards, we give children and young people a fun, safe place to learn, play, and grow through rugby league. Whether they’re new to the game or future stars in the making, everyone’s welcome at the Lions!
Why are we crowdfunding?
Our training equipment has seen better days, it’s tired, worn out, and holding us back. We’re crowdfunding to replace it with new, safe, high-quality gear that will help our players train harder, play better, and enjoy every moment on the field. Let’s give our Lions the tools they deserve!
How we’ll spend the money raised
All funds raised will go directly towards purchasing brand new training equipment and resources to support all age groups at Westhoughton Lions RLFC. Your support will help us provide a safer, more professional training environment for our players.
Here’s how your donations will make a difference:
- Full set of junior and youth tackle pads & shields: £2,000
- Match-quality training balls (various sizes): £800
- Agility and speed training equipment (ladders, cones, hurdles): £600
- New tackle bags & hit shields for senior training: £1,500
- Fitness equipment (resistance bands, weighted bags, recovery gear): £700
- Pop-up posts, bibs, and kicking tees: £400
Total goal: £6,000

Community impact
This project will have a huge impact on our local community. By upgrading our training equipment, we’re not just improving rugby sessions, we’re creating a safer, more inspiring space for children and young people to stay active, build confidence, and learn valuable life skills.
