Rewire the World with New Internationalist

We’ve been absolutely blown away by all the support for our Rewire the World campaign! Donations have continued to fly in at a rapid rate over the last 24 hours, helping us get closer to that stretch target!

Donations from supporters like Finn Lewis, who sent this heart-warming message: 

'New Internationalist has been in my life since I was young, but it was only later I realised the importance of independent journalism. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to our survival, and I do not say that flippantly. Big up New Int! We need you, now more than ever!'

This afternoon, more than 300 people joined our Instagram Live discussion, where we partnered with The Surge and 350.org campaigns to discuss how to unite to tell a better story than the far right. As our digital editor Maxine Betteridge-Moes said: ‘Independent media has a vital role to play in this fight back.' 

And thanks to all of you, we’re well on our way to being able to strengthen the digital presence of our journalism on the far right; including podcast episodes and digital newsletters – getting the message to as many people as we can.

To give everyone who’d like a chance to support the campaign we’ve decided to extend the deadline for one more week, so there’s still time to share the crowdfunder page with friends, family, and your networks if you haven’t done so already. The campaign will close at 6pm on Friday, 28 March.
