Dear supporters,
It's amazing! Thanks to the more than 770 of you who’ve donated to our Rewire the World campaign these past weeks, we’ve smashed through our initial target with one day to go!
Thank you for supporting independent media at such a critical time. It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey, but now the real work begins.
Now, thanks to you, we can start work on producing an edition of the magazine which not only exposes the far right, but also sets out the tools to fight back and support inspiring activist movements across the world.
We currently have a stretch target running which will help us to strengthen the digital presence of our journalism on the far right including podcast episodes and digital newsletters – getting the message to as many people as we can.
As our columnist Danny Chivers writes: ‘A climate change denier sits in the White House. The far right AfD doubled their vote share in the German elections. Reform UK, riding high in British opinion polls, have announced a “war on net zero”.’
These are frightening times, but social movements rallying against hatred and division are rising up too. And there are signs that people are not going to tolerate oppression, or the winding back of progress. International networks are emerging like ‘The Surge’, linking together the climate crisis, the rise of fascism, and ongoing wars and genocide, including in Palestine.

Understanding the problem is one thing. Knowing what to do is another.
If we’re going to make this fight back successful, it will be all about telling better stories and independent journalism is a key part of this. People know the status quo isn’t working and the ground is fertile to challenge the far right’s division and fear-mongering with positive narratives.
