New Home for BYCA

Aim

Due to the pandemic, we’ve had to run our classes online. We’ve now secured the lease for a new BYCA home and need your help!

Due to the pandemic, we haven’t been able to hire space for our classes and return to in-person teaching. We have operated entirely online since April but are keen to be able to engage with our students in person.

In the summer, we took the decision to take on the lease for a building of our own as it felt like the only viable way forward for us. It has been a long road to obtaining planning permission and gaining entry.

The building is a wonderful space but one of the rooms requires a floor covering and we need to purchase furniture for the office and studio spaces along with equipment for our young people. On top of that, making the building Covid secure is costly and requires the immediate purchase of PPE for the staff as well as additional cleaning products.

Money raised from this Crowdfunder will help us make the building safe for our young people and provide us with the means to purchase furniture, supplies and equipment. Long term, we hope that this building will not only be a home for BYCA but a space that can be accessed by the wider community and the many arts groups within our wonderful town.
