Crowdfund Lambeth has provided £4,000 of match funding
Help give Jessop Primary School a brand new community pitch, and get it resurfaced over the summer holidays for September 2025.
Jessop Primary School’s beloved all-weather community pitch – where England cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent bowled her first over – is now unsafe and unplayable. We have a unique opportunity to get the community pitch resurfaced over the summer holidays ready for the new school year in September 2025.
This isn’t just a school pitch – it’s a community lifeline. Every year, over 1,500 children and adults use it for:
We’re a group of parents, carers and community members raising funds to resurface this vital space so that our children and neighbours can run, play, train and thrive together once again.
We have raised £19,000 towards our £31,000 goal so far. We now just need to raise £8,000 with the additional £4,000 coming from match funding, meaning you donation will go even further!
Jessop Headteacher Mr Kenneth Baffoe said “The pitch is central to life at the school and the wider community who use it. It’s been really sad to watch it deteriorate over the last few years and it is now in desperate need of repair - your support is needed now.”
Victoria Bacon, a coach for Dulwich Hamlet Junior FC U9s said: “The pitch over the season has just become worse and worse and is virtually unplayable. If it’s not fixed we will need to look for another place to train and there is a real shortage of pitches in the area.”
Jessop sits at the heart of Lambeth – a vibrant, diverse area where families work hard to give their children the best start in life, even in tough circumstances.
This pitch is more than a pitch with goals. It’s a place where:
With your help, we can:
Every donation, big or small, gets us closer to the goal.
Imagine a safe, vibrant sports pitch where children can play freely, community groups can thrive, and future sporting heroes can take their first steps. Thank you for investing in the future of Jessop Primary School and our community!
Let’s give our children – and our community – the pitch they deserve.
Please donate, share, and help us bring play back to Jessop.
