Aim: CHLCC's practice nets are old and not fit for purpose, we want to build new ones for use by players of all ages, genders and local schools

Founded in 1948, we are a community cricket club, run entirely by volunteers, encouraging the Stockport community to enjoy cricket and get active.
ALL our revenue is reinvested back into the club to provide the best possible facilities. We run 12 teams across junior, mens and womens cricket and also run fun taster sessions for 130 boys and girls across the summer.

We are crowdfunding to provide a fantastic new cricket practice facility to be used by our whole community, with a particular focus on introducing more people to cricket in a safe environment.

The much needed facility will help to increase the skills, development and enjoyment of our growing number of talented young players and help Ladybridge to further increase our community and social impact.

If you are a UK tax payer, please don't forget to tick GIFT AID when you donate!

More about us:

  • We’re registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club.
  • We abide by strong diversity and inclusion policies and principles.
  • Our practice facilities face huge demand. We've a growing Women & Girls section, over 200 children attending regular Junior sessions, plus a high demand for all age-group cricket and we want to support all age groups, plus Cheshire Cobras Visually Impaired Team with greater access to practice facilities

With your help, we aim to build the new facility in spring 2026, which will allow all age groups and gender to practice their skills in a safe, high quality environment to allow them to learn & enjoy playing the sport even more!

Every penny donated will go towards the new practice facility and we are anticipating gaining extra revenue from Sport England (funded by the national lottery) who will match donations made through this site.

The total cost of the project is £65,000, we have raised almost £30,000 so far over the last 3 years and hope to receive a grant from the English Cricket Board and will run further fund raising activity.

The £18,000 raised on this site, including Sport England matched funding will give us the money we need to build in spring 2026.

Community impact

  • We work closely with local schools and offer our facilities free of charge to host their cricket matches
  • We provide opportunities, for all age groups to learn the game and even coach cricket for themselves
  • We take great pride in our environmental impact, ensuring a lovely green space for the local community to experience and wildlife to thrive.
  • We raise funds through our own activities and will be contributing to this fundraiser directly too.

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
