Layali Lounge: Cairo Cabaret in East London

Aim

To produce and film the first Layali Lounge: a Cairo-inspired cabaret night celebrating the art of live performance, Jazz fusion & community

Layali Lounge is a new live music and cultural event inspired by the spirit of Cairo's golden-age cabarets and the creativity of East London's independent music scene.

Created by Egyptian-born, London-based artist Layal, the project brings together neo-soul, Arabic classics, live performance, storytelling and community in one intimate evening.

This first edition, Cabaret Night, will be a carefully curated experience featuring a live band, special guest performers, immersive décor, audience interaction and a showcase of music from Layal's catalogue. The evening will blend Arabic and English influences, creating a space that feels nostalgic, playful and welcoming to people from all backgrounds.

The goal is not only to put on a memorable event, but to create a platform that can continue to grow. The show will be professionally filmed and recorded, allowing us to release live performance videos, build future Layali Lounge events and reach audiences beyond the room itself.

As an independent artist, I have spent the last several years building my career from the ground up: releasing original music, performing across the UK, securing radio support and developing a unique sound that bridges my Egyptian heritage with contemporary soul and jazz influences.

The funds raised will help cover:
