Move For Freedom & Fight Modern Slavery with TRIBE

Aim

TRIBE Freedom Foundation is a community-driven charity powered by everyday adventurers and athletes, on a mission to fight modern slavery.

British Airways and TRIBE Freedom Foundation are delighted to launch a three-year partnership to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking (“MSHT”) and raise funds for survivors.  

The campaign will focus on the power of the community in spotting the signs of modern slavery and supporting the fight for freedom - every one of us can help to combat MSHT. If we can equip a greater proportion of the community at British Airways with the knowledge and the drive to take action against modern slavery then the capacity for change is huge. 

Together, we can create a life-changing impact for the victims of MSHT across the world. 

There are estimated to be 122,000 people in the UK affected by modern slavery, and 50 million people globally. According to the Counter-Trafficking Data Collaborative, over 80% of human trafficking victims are known to be trafficked across at least one international border. British Airways and its colleagues are in a unique position to encounter potential instances of MSHT— and prevent them.

At TRIBE Freedom Foundation, we believe in the power of life-changing challenges and adventures. We push our limits to help fight modern slavery and empower the survivors.

Our journey began with a 1,000 mile run across Europe by a community of 250 runners to increase awareness and help set up the first UK home for trafficked children. Since then, more than 40,000 people have attended TRIBE runs, rides, hikes and other events and helped raise over £1.6m to fight modern slavery. 

This Summer, we are mobilising the British Airways community to move for freedom; for the survivors who have had their freedom taken from them.

As a small charity, your support will make a HUGE difference, enabling us to: 

• SUPPORT SURVIVORS OF SLAVERY: Support survivors of modern slavery like Anna and Jeliah to overcome their previous exploitation and reduce the risk of trafficking and exploitation through community engagement, frontline partnerships, training and mentoring programmes.
• PREVENTING SLAVERY: Help to increase awareness of modern slavery, promote public understanding and empower communities to create an impact in the fight against modern slavery and human trafficking.

This Summer, we are calling on British Airways teams to Move for Freedom and take on a fundraising challenge to help us hit our campaign target of £100,000 to fight modern slavery.
