Registered in October 2002, Medi Tech Trust upgraded its Charity Commission status from an Unincorporated Trust to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation [CIO] No. 1137837 in July 2014. Its main objectives are to provide medical equipment, training and healthcare education.
• No professional fundraisers are employed as the unpaid trustees and volunteers carry out various tasks so benefitting the community.
• Every East Sussex surgery has been given medical equipment they needed to help them provide more beneficial treatment for their patients.
• Medical equipment worth £millions donated to UK and overseas hospitals. This includes a Lithotripter, which shatters kidney stones through shock waves and laser machines donated to three Sussex hospitals.
• Our Community Recycling Initiative enables UK patients to return unused unwanted medical supplies which are then given to those in need.
• £5m+ worth of surgical supplies shipped to low resource countries.
• Overseas training visits organised for surgeons and medical staff with ongoing virtual training sessions provided for African medical staff.
• In June 2020, Medi Tech Trust received the Queens Award for Voluntary Services, with a special citation for providing impactful support during the early months of the pandemic when emphasis was concentrated on sourcing and donating PPE equipment to Sussex hospitals, care homes and vulnerable people.
The charity has resumed its main objective of transforming patients’ experiences through providing modern medical equipment ensuring less invasive surgery and faster recovery times.
• Medigive – a medical supplies recycling project – was launched in 2021.
• A 5 year Community Initiatives involving medical equipment donations to every doctors’ surgery in East Sussex, have benefitted every patient in the county.
