I am a bell ringer at Maker Church, I also teach ringing at Maker. The lead roof and pinnacles need urgent maintenance, we get very wet in the ringing chamber. The Church has stood overlooking Plymouth Sound for more than 900 years. Maker's bells were silenced only briefly in wartime, ordered to be rung only in the event of invasion, we have rung for the death of monarchs, coronations, weddings, jubilee celebrations, we don't want this tradition to end. We have a Teddy Bear Zip Wire fun day on August 26th, Bank Holiday Monday. Brave teddies will zip wire from the top of the tower.
