Aim
Help amplify our 90th Birthday celebrations with a Sound and AV system which does justice to the brilliant range of events that happen here.
We bring together people who are passionate about Wales, its culture, its heritage and its singing!
In 2027, we’ll celebrate our 90th anniversary, and we want to be ready! The Centre is the heart of Welsh culture in London, promoting Welsh Language and Heritage to a richly diverse audience through a programme of artistic and educational events which nurture understanding and enjoyment of Wales, its people, its music and culture.
This Crowdfunder is just one part of a much wider programme of investment in the London Welsh Centre as we look ahead to our 90th anniversary and beyond.
Since opening the doors at Gray’s Inn Road in 1937, The London Welsh Centre has become so much more than simply a ‘home from home’ for London’s Welsh Diaspora to meet and socialise, and is a vital platform where everyone is welcome to engage with Welsh culture and heritage - from gigs and performances to talks, community events, choirs and celebrations. Our current sound and AV system is ageing and no longer does justice to the brilliant range of things that happen here.
Our aim is simple: to have a new, state of the art, reliable and flexible PA and AV system in place when we reopen for our 90th year in 2027.
Our Singers need Microphones, our Choirs need a Stage, our DJs need Mixing Desks, and our Live Sports Events need an AV System that transcends the Principality Stadium!
