Aim
We are trying to raise money to be able to open our community pay as you can plant-based cafe 5 days a week, and for longer operating hours
We are an established Not for Profit Food Project and aim to provide freshly cooked plant based nutritious meals for the local community.
The current socio-economic climate change, means that many in our community our struggling and most of our guests are homeless/ engaged in the mental services/or cannot afford food.
For many their visit to our cafe will be the only hot meal they will have in that day, others have told us on the days we are not open they do not eat. We need funds so that we can continue to provide these meals and In addition we would like to expand our opening times as we are presently part time .
We ask for a small donation of 50p if possible for a meal, however most of our meals are provided free. We have observed an increase in elderly people and if funded we could provide/deliver meal boxes to them. As a project we are more than capable of providing a full time cafe, during the lockdown we received funding which allowed us to cook/prepare over 7000 take away meals for NHS, and charities such as The Outside Project and Streets Kitchen. We are known with the community and local food projects help us as and when.
