Aim
Lochgelly Band has qualified to represent Scotland at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in York in September 2026!
On the 7th of March 2026, Lochgelly Band competed in the Scottish Brass Band Championships in Perth Concert Hall.
The band finished runners-up in the 1st section and have therefore not only qualified for promotion to the Championship section from 2027, we have also received an invitation to represent Scotland at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain. This event takes place in the amazing York Barbican Theatre in September 2026.
Whilst this is an amazing opportunity (our first trip to the Nationals in over 15 years!), accommodating 30+ musicians and transporting them and their equipment over 200 miles is a huge cost for the band - but one that also comes with the huge reward of representing Lochgelly, Fife and Scotland on the fabulous stage of the York Barbican in the hope of becoming National Champions 2026!
