Win one of eight amazing prizes! All proceeds go to LOROS Hospice and Bowel Cancer UK - every entry makes a difference.
When people think of a hospice they often imagine it as a place for the elderly, not somewhere a 41-year-old husband and father of three would spend his final days. This was the heartbreaking reality Ben Lissaman and his family faced at the end of his brave battle with a rare and aggressive form of bowel cancer.
In his memory we have come together to raise funds for LOROS Hospice, who gave Ben and our family dignity, comfort and precious final moments together - and Bowel Cancer UK, whose work helps support people affected by bowel cancer and drive progress in treatment and care.
Enter by 11pm (BST) on 19 August 2026 for your chance to win! For more information see the Terms and Conditions.

Ben was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend, who we sadly lost last year after a short but incredibly brave battle with a rare form of advanced bowel cancer.
In 2023, Ben began experiencing changes in his bowel habits, including severe bloating and abdominal pain. What initially seemed like manageable symptoms turned out to be stage IV bowel cancer that had already spread to his liver. His diagnosis came as a devastating shock to everyone who knew and loved him, and was incredibly difficult to come to terms with.
For over two years, Ben fought this cancer with everything he had - every ounce of strength, every bit of resilience, and a level of determination that never once wavered. He went through round after round of chemotherapy and faced multiple surgeries, each time getting back up and pushing forward when most would have been completely worn down. Nothing about it was easy, but he refused to give in, meeting every setback with the same stubborn resolve to keep going.
When, in 2024, he received the devastating news that the cancer had spread further and the outlook was becoming increasingly limited, he still didn’t step back from the fight. If anything, he doubled down. True to himself, Ben kept taking on treatment after treatment with clear, fierce determination. He gave it absolutely everything he had right to the very end.
In November 2025 Ben’s condition worsened considerably and he faced the devastating reality that there were no further treatment options available.

During his final days LOROS Hospice provided a place of comfort, dignity, and peace - somewhere his wife and three young daughters could spend precious, uninterrupted time with their beloved daddy and husband. It also allowed family and close friends to visit and say their goodbyes in a warm, supportive environment.
One of the most meaningful aspects of Ben’s time at LOROS was the use of a cuddle bed, which allowed his wife and daughters to lie beside him, holding him close and cherishing those final moments together.
As an underfunded charity in the Midlands, LOROS rely heavily on donations to continue providing this vital service to other families facing difficult times. We hope the money raised will go towards funding another cuddle bed so that others will have the same opportunity to be close together in their hour of need.
During his illness, Ben was able to access new and emerging treatments specifically tailored to the type and genetic profile of his bowel cancer, BRAF V600E. These treatments were the result of ongoing medical research and clinical trials that aim to improve outcomes for patients who may not benefit from standard therapies alone. While this gave Ben more time and hope during his journey, it also highlighted how vital continued progress in treatment and care is for those affected by bowel cancer, and is the reason we're fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK.
LOROS provides vital palliative and end-of-life care to patients, alongside emotional and practical support for their families and loved ones.
All of this care is completely free at the point of use. Their aim is always to relieve suffering, promote dignity, and improve quality of life at one of the most difficult times anyone can face.
Patients and families often describe LOROS services as a lifeline – and for many, that is exactly what they are.

In a typical year, LOROS cares for around 2,500 patients, often stepping in when curative treatment is no longer an option. This not only supports families at a critical time, but also helps reduce pressure on the NHS by delivering care in the community.
LOROS believes that everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and comfort at the end of life. Fundraising is vital to ensure this care remains available for the next person who needs it – and, one day, perhaps for someone each of us loves.
By entering the draw, you'll be helping to support LOROS and protect a service that so many families rely on, now and in the future.
