Aim

We’re raising £80,000 to install new floodlights on our main pitch at Wymondham Rugby club

Help Light the Future of Wymondham Rugby Club

We’re raising £80,000 to install new floodlights on Pitch 1 and to provide essential backlighting for the training area at Wymondham Rugby Club — creating more opportunities to train, play, and grow rugby for all ages and abilities.

This project will benefit the whole club.

It supports minis, juniors, women & girls, seniors, touch rugby, and wider community sport by enabling extended evening use and back-lighting across the training areas.

Why Floodlights Matter

Modern floodlighting will allow us to:

Increase safe evening training hours during autumn and winter.

Support the rapid growth of junior and women & girls rugby.

Reduce pressure on existing training spaces.

Improve accessibility for community groups and local sports use.

Create a long-term asset for the whole town.

This is an investment in participation, safety, inclusion, and sustainability — not just rugby.

The Boudicca 30 – Our Club Fundraiser

To fund the project, club members and supporters are taking on The Boudicca 30 — a 30-mile walk from Diss to Norwich, broken into manageable sections so anyone can get involved.

You don’t have to walk the full 30 miles:

Families and minis can walk shorter sections.

Juniors, women & girls, seniors, and social players can take part at different stages.

Some will walk multiple sections or the full route.

Every step helps light the future of the club.

Our £80,000 Floodlight Tracker

We are going to be tracking our success online and through social media with a  floodlight graphic which will be updated as we hit our milestones

The target is split into £5,000 blocks

Each block filled represents another step towards lighting the pitch from funds raised by those fundraising and taking part and those kind enough to sponsor or donate towards this challenge

When we reach the final block, the floodlights will appear golden yellow — symbolising the moment we’ve fully funded the project.

This is a shared club achievement, built block by block.

Matched Funding Opportunity

We are working with Sport England to secure matched funding for this project.

That means:

Every donation made through this Crowdfunder could have double the impact

Your £25 could become £50

Your £100 could become £200

Matched funding will help us reach our target faster and unlock even greater benefit for the club and community.

How You Can Help

There are four simple ways to get involved:

Walk it – Register and sign up to Crowdfunder.  You can walk the entire route (must be at least in the U15 section or above)  or request (or we will then allocate you) to take part in a section of the Boudicca 30 Mile walk. There are certain sections that are not suitable for the younger age groups and we can

Sponsor it – support someone taking part

Donate – make a one-off contribution of any size

Share it – help spread the word to friends, family and local businesses

Every contribution moves us closer to lighting the pitch.

Thank You

By supporting this project, you’re not just funding floodlights —
you’re investing in young players, growing participation, and securing the future of rugby and community sport at Wymondham Rugby Club.
