Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm is dedicated to brightening children’s lives by providing unforgettable breaks and valuable learning experiences. We work with the most disadvantaged children in the city, offering them respite from difficult, and sometimes abusive, home lives. A break at Lineham Farm is filled with adventure, fun and learning in a safe and happy environment – it’s childhood as it should be.

Our supported children are predominately aged between 7 and 11, and come from backgrounds of challenge and disadvantage, some suffer abuse and neglect, others live in poverty, many even act as a young carer for a parent, sibling or other relative.
Children are referred to us by schools, voluntary sector, and other agencies, ensuring we have the full support of their family/guardians. The children’s length of stay can vary from a single day up to a week. Often the children we help are left to fight their own battles for far too long, subsequently their health and educational needs are an afterthought. Further to this the aftereffects of Covid 19 have increased this disparity, therefore now, more than ever, these children deserve some relief and joy.
A stay at Lineham Farm is filled with adventure, fun and learning, all in a safe and happy environment – childhood as it should be. At the centre young people take part in all types of activities, low ropes; climbing; bouldering; orienteering; mountain biking; animal care; environmental work; night-lines and bushcraft. During their stay children are provided with fresh, nutritious, home cooked meals.
For many Lineham Farm is a sanctuary, a place where they can reflect, feel safe, have fun and learn new skills. As a charity we work with and support on average over 2000 young people a year.
