We are raising funds for our foodbank that supports those in most need of food.
We have had people turn up looking for food that are thin and have not eaten for several days. They are extremely grateful to have food donated to them. We have families that are waiting for benefits to come through and have no money in the meantime to buy food, those that have got jobs but waiting for their pay check.
We started our foodbank for the local community of Keyham during COVID. People where self-isolating and we were delivering food free to those that could not afford it or could not get out of their house due to COVID.
Since then our foodbank has grown as has demand. While we do not deliver food any more we do still offer it free to those that cannot afford to buy it and to anyone in Plymouth. On average we help over 120 people with food a week. We buy food from Fareshare and Lidl, with many food donations from Devon and Cornwall Food Action and many others.
We always need plastic or paper bags for food and will accept food donations even if out of date as long as it is the Best Before date not an out of date on USE BY.
We have a Navy chef that cooks food that is frozen and given out to those that might have limited cooking facilities e.g. only a slow cooker or microwave.

To run a food bank we need money to buy food, pay some staff, electric, gas, insurance and water rates etc.
PLEASE HELP DONATE TOWARDS THIS WORTHY CAUSE.
