10th February 2023Things are looking up, but we still really need your help
Thanks to everyone who has supported our Crowdfunder which we launched before Christmas after we announced we would be closing our doors in West Croydon. More than 344 people have pledged over £10,000 and this has been topped up with £5,500 from the Co-op warm spaces fund, meaning we reached our initial target and are well on the way to reaching our stretch goal of £25k.
It’s been a crazy few months and our focus has been on trying to stabilise ourselves, reduce overheads where possible and increase revenues and we have made solid progress so far, in challenging circumstances (Cost of Living Crisis, Post Covid Recovery and the impact of the War in Ukraine).
On Wednesday we had a really positive meeting with our landlords, The Arch Company and have agreed some targets and objectives which we all feel are realistic and should enable us to continue to trade in West Croydon for the long term.
The money we have raised will really help us get through the Winter. It costs more than £10,000 per month in fixed costs before we pay for stock or staff. We still need all the support we can get to put us on a solid footing for 2023 and beyond.
Please give our Crowdfunder a final boost by sharing it on your social media or backing us, if you can. Don’t take us for granted. We are still in a perilous position and need your help.
