Aim

The Club relies on its members to volunteer to maintain the grass. To do this we require a new user-friendly Lawn Mower

Who are we?

Thornton Bowling Club has been at the heart of the Community since it was formed in 1930. The Club has close ties with the community and hosts many charity events and joins many local programmes e.g Cafe Inc which provides free packed lunches for school children during school holidays etc, And also the Warm Place programme where by Locals can attend on a Tuesday for a free snack and friendly company to talk to.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are Crowd funding to raise funds for New Maintenance equipment. This way the Bowling green will be easier to keep in better condition and make it easier for people of all ages to enjoy the sport of lawn bowls.

If you're applying for extra funding, this is a good place to demonstrate why your project is eligible so refer back to the criteria to help complete this section

How we’ll spend the money raised

The Money will be spent on purchasing a New Lawn Mower, that is more user friendly and replace our older machine that is requiring more and more repairs.

Community impact

The Club encourages social members to take up the sport and previously we have held Community days whereby the local school children can try the sport by using soft play bowls and target bowls when we have fun days etc. Bowls Scotland also encourages Try Bowls Days,
