The current playground area at Hooe Primary Academy is 21 years old and much of it has now been condemned. It desperately needs replacing!

Raising £10,000 will enable us to provide our 'Option 1' playground equipment. If we were lucky enough to raise £15,000 this would enable us to make everyone's dreams come true by being able to provide our 'Option 2' playground in which all of the children's ideas were incorporated.
We are a small, passionate committee who, with the full support of the community, having been working tirelessly for the last 6 months to begin to raise funds to replace the play equipment for all of the wonderful children that attend Hooe Primary Academy.
The current equipment is now 21 years old and is in a terrible state. Much of it has been condemned and there is very little play left in it. This can clearly be seen in the photos below.
In the summer we had a number of playground design companies come in to school and with the children's incredible input, the play area (see below) has been designed. All children, from foundation up to Year 6, will enjoy and be challenged by this wide range of equipment. The total cost of this is £26,500 and for a school of just over 200 children, fundraising for this is a daunting task.
Last academic year, in just over 2 months we managed to raise an incredible £12,200. This was through various fundraising events and also securing grants and donations from generous companies. Even with all that success though, we still have to raise another £14,300 to reach our target.
Alongside this Crowdfunding appeal we also have many upcoming events at school such as a pumpkin carving competition, school discos, a silent auction and a whole school mufti-day.
A significant number of individual children and their families have also been fundraising independently to raise further funds. We are so grateful for all of the support so far but now we need to ask for further support to meet our target and secure the play equipment for our wonderful children!
