Hollingbury Park Tennis Court Resurfacing

Aim

We are aiming to resurface four of our courts in 2026 by raising £10K (which will be matched by Sport England)

Who are we?

We are Hollingbury Park Tennis Club (HPTC)!  We are a volunteer run sports group providing low cost tennis access to the local community in the Fiveways area of Brighton.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our much loved former council operated site is long overdue significant investment in the playing surface. Unless the courts are resurfaced in the very near future we will be forced to close courts as they deteriorate to an extent they are unsafe to play on. The site hosts

- school groups for free

- free targeted coaching for children with special educational needs

- a low cost coaching and playing pathway for children from 5 upwards

- adult social and competitive tennis for club members

- a low cost pay and play model for the general public

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will be spending all money raised on the resurfacing of up to four of our courts this year.

Community impact

New playing surfaces are crucial to the long term viability of this community asset which currently provides health and social benefits to a wide range of local children, young people and adults.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer or buy rewards. Get involved by donating things we can offer to our supporters or buying what others have offered.

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

Events

Sunday 12th July - Junior Matchplay and BBQ Event

The annual junior members-only event brings the Hollingbury Park community of juniors together for a fun day of matchplay events, BBQ and cake sale. Support us by offering groceries, cakes buying a food ticket and/or donating via this page.

Saturday 18th July - 12 hour Tennisathon

On Saturday18 July, Hollingbury Park Tennis Club will be hosting a Tennisathon — a full‑day, non‑stop tennis challenge designed to bring our whole community together while raising vital funds for our Court Resurfacing Campaign.

From early morning to early evening, members, families, juniors, coaches and friends of the club will take to the courts in a relay-style marathon of tennis.
