The juniors will play tennis from dawn to dusk on Saturday 18th July as part of the club's fundraising campaign to resurface the courts.
The Hollingbury Park junior tennis team and programmes began less than three years ago in Autumn 2024 with a simple aim: make quality coaching and competitive tennis accessible to every local child, regardless of their background.
Through affordable coaching and a strong team culture, our young players who have all started as beginners have achieved remarkable success together. Teamwork, inclusion, fair play, friendship and community are at the heart of everything we do. A number of our players come from families who would not otherwise access competitive tennis coaching, while others have neurodiversity or additional learning needs that are accommodated.
Unlike many clubs we compete against, our ageing court surfaces currently make year-round training impossible in the wet & cold weather. Despite facility challenges including court surfaces in disrepair, no floodlights, clubhouse or guaranteed toilets/water, our players continue to exceed expectations. In 2025, we entered the Sussex Junior Youth League for the first time with three teams. One year later, eight Hollingbury teams competed across the age groups, establishing us as one of Sussex's leading junior programmes. Our 12U Boys were recently the 2026 Sussex Division 1 champions, an incredible achievement for a community park club to have this depth of players and standard.
With your support, we can resurface our courts to enable us to continue to grow and support local children through tennis.
Please help us give the next generation of young people in the Hollingbury catchment safe courts by:
(1) Coming down to the courts to play and participate with the juniors (suggested minimum £10 donation) during the tennis-a-thon.
(2) Challenging a junior player to a match - donation "mandatory" if you are out played - suggested minimum £10 donation to the Crowdfunder if you are an adult who gets beat by a junior!
(3) Making a donation and sharing this link. Every little bit helps.
(4) Purchasing a reward/voucher from the main campaign page.
