Aim

"Hit It For Six": Fund Our Future Together" crowdfunding campaign to replace our outdated scoreboard. In memory of Martin Barber.

2026 marks 80 years of Maltby Cricket Club - a proud milestone in our history and an exciting opportunity to invest in our future.

To celebrate this landmark anniversary, we are launching our "Hit It For Six": Fund Our Future Together" crowdfunding campaign.

Founded in 1946, Maltby Cricket Club has grown from a small village club with just one senior team into a thriving, family- and community-focused club with both senior and junior teams. We are proud to make cricket accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, creating a welcoming environment where everyone can feel part of the club. We also have ambitious plans to continue growing our junior section, particularly girls' cricket, so that even more young people in our community can get involved in the game. The club is built on the dedication of an army of volunteers and is proudly supported by local businesses.

As we look to the future, we want our facilities to reflect the passion, pride, and progress of our club. At the centre of this campaign is our goal to install a brand-new cricket scoreboard. Our current scoreboard is old and outdated, and it no longer reflects the quality and ambition of Maltby Cricket Club. A new scoreboard will significantly enhance the experience for both players and spectators, serving as a key focal point during every game and improving the atmosphere, visibility, and enjoyment on matchdays.

The provision of a new scoreboard is an essential investment as we continue to grow our teams and expand participation in cricket across the local community. As one of the most visible features on matchdays, the scoreboard plays an important role in how players, supporters, and visiting teams experience our ground.

More than just a practical improvement, the new scoreboard will also stand as a lasting tribute to Martin Barber, whose ideas, energy, and dedication made a profound impact on Maltby Cricket Club.

We are seeking to raise £8,544 through grant crowdfunding to make this project possible. This total will fund:

  • A new DC28 scoreboard, including ProGrip remote control, personalisation, delivery, and installation - £8,184
  • A Silver Warranty and Service Contract to ensure long-term maintenance and reliability - £360

This project is about more than equipment. It is about honouring our past, recognising those who helped shape the club, and building a stronger future for the next generation of players, supporters, and volunteers.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us take this important step forward. Whether you support us through our crowdfunding page or by attending one of our fundraising events, you will be helping Maltby Cricket Club build a legacy that lasts well beyond this anniversary year.

Join us in celebrating 80 years of Maltby Cricket Club by helping us invest in the next 80.
