Welcome to the Herne Hill Forum's Halloween Celebration 2023 Crowdfunder!
We are a committed community group located in the heart of Herne Hill, SE24.
Our track record includes creating vibrant community spaces, executing great projects, and organising events with the active participation of local businesses, residents, and volunteers.
This year we’d love to bring back our popular Halloween Celebration – a free, fun-filled, and inclusive event for all children and families in our community.
This would be our first in-person event since the pandemic. In the past we’ve had monster discos, magicians, unlucky dip, ghost hunts, films, face painting and more!
From 5pm to 7pm on October 31, the area around Herne Hill Station and Station Hall will transform into a buzzing Halloween hub.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic and recent economic pressures have made fundraising for this event a challenging task. This is where we turn to you, our supportive community, to help make this celebration a reality.
We have seen first-hand the magic of bringing families together from across various communities - the laughter, the shared joy, and the strengthening of community bonds. Even during the pandemic our online event brought a smile to many.
“Thank you so much for offering this, it makes a huge difference, particularly at a time when the kids have very little to do” - Helen, local resident
We will use the funds raised from this campaign to cover the costs of event organisation, equipment rental, payment of entertainers’ fees and, most importantly, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all attendees.
For example, £200 could pay for a magician for an hour, and £650 could pay for the hire and safe installation of 10 gazebos.
Ghost or a ghoul, witch or warlock, every penny counts for our Halloween celebration! Whether you throw in a single magic £1 coin or pour in a grand £50 potion, your generosity will help conjure a memorable and magical evening for all.
