Aim

Our aim is to get Codetta to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. To spread the joy, wonder and ambition of this show.

🎭 Our Show

CODETTA is an unconventional coming-of-age story told through a glittering 2010s pop concert. Blending original music, sharp choreography, and raw storytelling, it explores girlhood, identity, and the messy nostalgia of growing up. It’s bold, chaotic, and deeply personal—a love letter to the songs, bedrooms, and versions of ourselves we’ve left behind. So grab your hairbrush, slam your bedroom door, and press play on the pop renaissance.

👥 Who Are We?

We are Kismet—an 11-strong emerging theatre company based in Bristol. After graduating from The Wardrobe Ensemble’s BA (in partnership with Bristol School of Acting), we came together to create work that pushes boundaries. Our style blends movement, music, and devised theatre to make bold, genre-defying performances. Our work ranges from an intimate two-hander exploring queer experience to a radical 11-person reimagining of Hamlet. Now, we’re taking our biggest step yet: an original musical.

🚀 Our Mission

This year, we’re taking Codetta to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026, with the goal of launching a national tour. The show was first developed during our final year of training and received overwhelming feedback asking for its return. We listened—and now we’re ready to bring it to the world’s biggest arts festival. The Fringe is an incredible opportunity for emerging artists, but it comes with significant costs. From venue hire to accommodation, it’s a major financial leap, and every contribution—no matter how small—brings us closer to sharing Codetta with a wider audience.

💖 How You Can Support Us

We’re hosting a series of live fundraising events to help get us there, including Codetta: Live! at The Art of Coffee in Coleford, Codetta: Live! at BOMBA in Exeter, Codetta at Zed Alley in Bristol, and CODETTA the Musical at Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare. You can find more information here: https://linktr.ee/Kismetbristol. If you aren’t able to support us in person, a donation would mean the world to us.

💫 Our Fundraising Targets

We know that £16,000 is a big ask, so we want to be completely transparent about what each fundraising milestone would help us achieve. This is not an all-or-nothing goal. Every donation directly reduces the financial pressure on our company and brings Codetta one step closer to Edinburgh.

£800 would cover our core Fringe admin costs, including registration and essential festival fees.

£4,500 would cover our venue costs, securing the space we need to perform Codetta at the Edinburgh Fringe.

£6,500 would cover our venue and travel, helping us get the company, set, costumes, and equipment to Edinburgh.

£10,500 would cover our venue, travel, and accommodation, taking away the biggest practical costs of getting the show there.

£11,800 would cover our core Edinburgh Fringe costs, including venue, accommodation, travel, admin, and marketing.

£16,000 would allow us to take Codetta to the Fringe without company members having to pay significant costs out of pocket, while also ensuring our artists are paid for the work they are putting into the production.

Whether we raise £10 or £16,000, your support makes a real difference. It helps us protect emerging artists from taking on unsustainable personal costs, and gives Codetta the best possible chance of reaching new audiences at the world’s biggest arts festival.

💸 Where Your Money Goes

All funds raised will go directly towards our Edinburgh Fringe 2026 run, helping to cover essential costs including venue hire, registration, accommodation, and travel. Your support helps us bring new, original theatre to life—and take the next step in our journey.

Will you help us fund the pop concert of a lifetime?

Sincerely,
⭐Kismet
