Me & Mrs B walking 10 miles to raise money for The Listening Place, a charity which supports people who feel life is no longer worth living.
On Saturday, 18th April, myself & Mrs B will be taking on walking 10 miles to raise money for The Listening Place, a charity which provides free, ongoing, face-to-face support to people who feel life is no longer worth living. Myself and 50 other volunteers and supporters of the charity are aiming to raise a combined £20,000 for the charity, which will fully fund support of 80 people who feel suicidal, offering to support them for as long as they need. Each of these 80 individuals will be matched with a warm and highly trained volunteer who will support them on an ongoing, in-person basis, giving them the space to speak openly and without judgement about their suicidal feelings. Crucially, The Listening Place knows that their support works, with people reporting a highly significant reduction in suicidal feelings after accessing the service. So if you are able to give towards our fundraiser, it would be so appreciated and will help make such a difference by directly funding support for people who feel life is no longer worth living. To date the charity has supported over 30,000 people who were experiencing suicidal feelings, and anything you give will help them to continue to provide this much needed support.
