Hamsey Green Pond is a small but often forgotten Green Space on the edge of Croydon. As a friends group, we hope to bring the pond back to its former glory.
FRIENDS OF SANDERSTEAD RECEEATION GROUND AND GREEN SPACES are a voluntary organisation with no income and need the money to support our projects. The funds from this will support the big dig and reinforcing the banks for better safety for families with younger children as well as planting and equipment
We plan to dig up the dry reeds that have taken over the pond, dig out the bank so that it is straight, reinforce the bank so that it is safe.
we will also cut back the over hanging trees and bushes so that people can sit in nature even though they are in a town.
we hope that the revitalisation of the pond will bring back more wildlife, pond life and ducks and increase biodiversity at this site
future plans include building a pond dipping platform for enrichment and education.
