Aim
Give a rescue dog the greatest gift this Christmas - safety & security. Without your help, our small rescue won't survive another year...
At the German Shepherd Dog Welfare Fund, every single dog in our care has a story - of heartbreak, hope, and survival. Many came to us terrified, emaciated, and traumatised after being abandoned or let down by the people they trusted most. We promised them they would never be failed again.
But now, we’re the ones who are struggling. Adopters are few and far between, and every day more desperate dogs need our help. It costs almost £17,000 every month just to keep a roof over their heads - that’s before vet bills, enrichment or the small comforts that make them feel safe and loved.
If things don’t change soon, we’ll run out of money within the next 12 months. The thought breaks our hearts. What happens then to our 54 beautiful souls - to Virgil with his big goofy grin, Little Luna who finally learned that hands could be gentle, Sonny with his sunshine heart, and gentle Paddington who’s known too much pain already?
These dogs have already lost everything once. We can’t let them lose their safe place too.
