We're still collecting donations
On the 1st November 2020 we'd raised £17,800 with 295 supporters in 114 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Your investment will help secure our premises, our future and allow us to continue to grow as a vital hub in the community.
On the 1st November 2020 we'd raised £17,800 with 295 supporters in 114 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We desperately need your help and investment to save May Project Gardens and help us grow and become self-sufficient in the midst of this Global Pandemic.
In the 14 years that we've been helping the most marginalised members of our society, including young black boys, unaccompanied refugee minors or people with mental health challenges in our community, we've never had to weather a storm like this one.
Ian founded the project in the memory of his mother, May, who suffered from mental illness her whole life. As her primary carer he witnessed firsthand the importance of having access to green spaces, land, food growing and a vibrant loving community.
Projects and spaces like ours are under threat in this current climate.
As a part of humanity we all have to reconsider what matters to us, what society we want to be a part of and what community we want to build.
As a small project with a big vision we need to raise £25,000 towards a deposit to buy our premises and secure our future, against all uncertainty.
About us:
May Project Gardens is an award-winning, innovative education model that educates and empowers young people to be healthy, entrepreneurial and grow their communities.
May Project Gardens is situated in the suburbs of Morden in South London. The Project was founded in 2006 with the aim of bringing communities closer together through ecological and ethical activities.
About our site:
The site has approximately 250sqm of growing space where a variety of fruits and vegetables are grown by individuals who volunteer their time to help keep the project going. The site was designed using Permaculture principles, advocating working with nature not against her to fulfil our needs. We place a great emphasis on reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
The site houses a medium sized poly tunnel, a small herb garden, two large main crop beds, a wildlife zone (which includes a pond and a wild flower bed), a small food forest garden and four different composting systems.
Your investment will enable us to have economic self determination and allow us to continue the vital work we do for the community.
