Aim

As you can see from the picture and video, the 100 year old pavilion needs refurbishment. We have already replaced the showers and toilet

Gowerton Cricket Club

We have been playing cricket here for nearly 150 years. We have been successful in winning many trophies in South Wales, but our finest achievement was to win the Haig National Village Cricket trophy at Lords in 1975.

Cricket is played on the ground at all grades for boys, girls, men and women.

The pavilion is more than 100 years old and is in need of total refurbishment - inside and outside.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Over the last few years the club has conducted a number of fund raising events and raised in excess of £50k. In addition the Gower Society has generously donated £10k. This money has enabled us to commence work inside the pavilion, replacing showers and toilets.

We now need to raise further funds to complete the interior refurbishment, completely renovate the exterior panelling and roof, and replace the door and windows.

Ultimately we will be able to provide modern facilities to boys, men, girls and ladies to change and shower in privacy and to offer the facilities to the wider community, not just for cricket.

If we can raise £50k through this campaign, some of that amount will be matched by Sport Wales. Work has already started on restructuring the interior and providing new showers.
