Aim
Gamesley Community Group are raising funds to replace the sports courts and changing room facilities
Who are we?
We are Gamesley Community Group, with Gamesley FC, we are a group of local residents who run the local community centre and football club. We represent a forgotten isolated community of Gamesley. The community love local sport, whether that's spectating or taking part, crowds of over 100 + come weekly to see their team play. We also provide much needed support for health, education, social and employment, for a community living in poverty.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are looking to raise funds to enable an overhaul of our Sports Courts and Changing facilities. These facilities are currently derelict and unsafe. Yet, are still used daily by young people due to it being the only accessible sports area to them.
With the development we will open up new teams for football for both children and youth, Woman and disabled, creating inclusive opportunities for all. The facility will also allow for causal sports play and bring in other sports such as netball, basketball and cricket.
We will also be supporting the housing of local artifacts from Melandra Castle Fort and provide shelter for spectators.
We are working with Football Foundation to match fund this project, to help bring a much needed new facility for the whole of Glossopdale.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money will bring a all weather floodlit facility with a changing room and pavilion area.

Help Us Rebuild Sport, Community and Opportunity in Gamesley
Gamesley Community Centre sits at the heart of one of the most deprived and isolated areas of Gamesley, over two miles from the main town of Glossop. For many local residents—especially children, young people and those without transport—there is little to no access to safe outdoor sport or recreational activity. While Gamesley Community Group provides vital support through health, education, employment advice and indoor sports, our outdoor facilities are currently unsafe, derelict and unusable.
The new facilities will allow our club and community group to grow and widen our offer across Gamesley and the wider Glossopdale area. In addition to sport and physical activity, the pavilion will also provide shared space for local heritage, helping to house and showcase Roman artefacts from Melandra Castle Fort, connecting our community not only through sport but through shared history and pride.
