Aim

We're raising funds for a Community Ranger to help improve safety, paths and littering and to build community at Campsie Glen Woodland

Campsie Glen is a much-loved natural haven, 32-acre of largely unmanaged sitewith waterfalls, exposed geology, mature woodland and plantation trees, and areas of bracken and grassland and is owned by Campsie Glen Woodland CiC.

The Campsies is a place where generations have walked the woodland paths, admired the waterfalls, and found peace and adventure in nature. But this beautiful space needs care, protection, and responsible management to ensure it can be enjoyed safely for years to come.

We’re now raising funds to employ a dedicated community woodland Ranger/Outdoor Coordinator to look after Campsie Glen, helping us manage the land, protect wildlife, and keep visitors safe.

Why We Need a Ranger

Campsie Glen has become increasingly popular in recent years, but that popularity brings challenges:

  • Unsafe and eroded paths have led to injuries and restricted access.
  • Litter, fires, and vandalism threaten the health of the land and its wildlife.
  • Without proper management, trees, habitats, and trails are at risk of long-term damage.

With planning permission and new on-site storage now in place, we’re in the perfect position to take the next step,  bringing in a Woodland Ranger to care for the area and support the community who love it.

What the Woodland Ranger Will Do

Your donations will help fund a Ranger who will:

Manage and care for the woodland, tree health, habitat protection, and biodiversity.
🚶 Improve and maintain paths, steps, and signage for safer access.
🧹 Lead litter picking, maintenance, and fire prevention work.
🪜 Install and maintain safety measures around the waterfalls such as handrails and improved pathways.
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Work with schools, volunteers, and local groups to encourage responsible, respectful use of the land.

We want to preserve Campsie Glen as a living, safe, and sustainable landscape for the future.

 How Your Support Will Help

Every donation, large or small, takes us closer to employing our first Woodland Ranger.

£10 could provide litter-picking tools and gloves.

£25 could help maintain safe walking routes and handrails.

£50 could fund tree care and planting around key areas.

£100+ will directly contribute to the Ranger’s wages and essential safety equipment.

Together, we can create a safer, cleaner, and greener Campsie Glen, protecting it for wildlife, visitors, and future generations.
